Master Cleanser Diet Diary from a Weight Loss Alaska Reader:4/4/04 Sunday I started yesterday and had 3 of the lemonade, maple syrup (couldn't find Grade B anywhere, so I am using Grade A), and cayanne pepper drinks, plus (and this is technically not allowed) I had several coffees with cream and a large diet coke. I also drank lots of water. I felt fine and I heard my stomach growl, which hasn't happened in months. I didn't exercise, which is typical for me these past few months (but I need to and will when winter finally lets go and I can walk again). The great news: I lost 4.5 lbs. in one day! If it's water weight, I don't care, I'm just so happy to see the scale go down instead of up for the first time since early December! Yesterday I weighed 167.5; today I weighed 163. Most of all, I was glad to not eat chocolate yesterday; I have been out of control with all the Easter candy of late; every time I go to the store, I buy a pound or more of it!
I read about it in People magazine this week; there is an article on how Robin Quivers lost 70 pounds in thre 21-day sessions of the diet. I am going for the standard 10 days. It will be challening since I am going to Seattle to see family in 5 days, and everyone will want to eat eat and eat and will be appalled if I am not eating. Here are the ingredients of the diet:
It sounds like a good plan for someone who is out of control right now with her diet and needs to reassess what I am doing and why. I do not want to gain it all back, as I did the last time I lost a substantial amount of weight. This time, I lost 41 pounds from September to December 2003 by quitting chocolate (which meant I basically quit sugar, since chocolate is the only sweet I truly love), and by walking the dogs about 3 times a week for a couple miles each time on wooded trails. The weight came off pretty easily. Since I am ALWAYS hungry, I also took one phentermine on days when I was very hungry. But the phentermine has stopped working, I stopped walking, and I started eating chocolate again, so I went from 155 on January 13, 2004, 167.5 yesterday...a gain of 12.5 pounds. Now, at 163, that is down to 9 pounds. I am hoping that I am back down to 155 or lower (please!) by the time I go to Seattle (in 4 days). I will try to keep you posted on how I am doing on this diet; however, from April 8-18 I will be out of town, so you'll have to check back after the 18th for that update. -Jory (click here to email me) 4/5 VERY hungry today. But I lost 3.5 more lbs. in one day, so that's 8 lbs. in 2 days. Tonight I ate a piece of cheese and a large cracker. I'm feeling weak and headachy, but I did manage to take another 3-mile dog walk today, so that's good. I'm down to 159.5. If I can make it a couple more days, I should get down to 155 (I'm 4.5 lbs. from being there), which is where I was in mid-January when my weight started piling back on. My goal (according to my calendar) by tomorrow (Tuesdays are my goal days) was to weight 145, and obviously that is not going to happen. I didn't take a diet pill today (phentermine), as I didn't think they were working anymore, but now I think I should tomorrow, as I was sooooo hungry! By the way, I'm doing a modified Master Cleanser diet, as I'm only doing the lemonade mixture drinks and not the sea salt drinks; that sounds like more than I can handle. I'm also drinking coffee with cream and diet coke and eating chocolate calcium tablets and bubble gum. But hey, 8 lbs. in 2 days is not bad!
